Description

We have to think differently about both developmental trauma and psychotic process and their treatment. Psychotherapy typically is not enough and medication all too often exacerbates the problem. In this webinar, Sebern Fisher expands on emerging neuroscience that shows that early childhood neglect and abuse impact major structures and networks in the human brain. The largest network, the Default Mode Network supports the sense of self and other and it is significantly impaired in developmental trauma. How does one engage in psychotherapy when they have has no reliable sense that they exist or that their therapist does? This is a core issue in psychosis process as well. It is a brain problem before it becomes a mental health problem.
